She was the same waitress who was very rude after we turned down offer of overpriced absinthe before we went into the play (we both can't stand absinthe.bleh!). The waitress was very rude and told her to either go back into the play or leave the hotel. She explained to her that I had the cash and that her foot was slightly injured. After 15 minutes in the bar, she was approached by one of the waitresses who told her she needed to buy something or leave the bar. She had checked her purse at the door, and I had my wallet so she didn't have any cash. So, she went to the bar area to sit down and give her feet a break for a while. After the crowd cleared out, I remained in the room and explored things.for example, in a mortician's office, there was a logbook that was completely filled out in full detail.they level of detail put into the set is amazing! One negative thing: After my wife and I split, she eventually got her foot stomped on by a large woman in heels. I happened to come across a few of the major scenes of the play, and then watched the crowd of idiots trip over each other trying to follow the actors as they ran from scene to scene. So, I gave up following the characters and that's when I had the most fun. I followed a couple characters for a little over the first half of the play, then it began to get too crowded to easily follow them without getting pushy (which some people definitely got too pushy for me.rude!). Even with reading the play ahead of time, it took about half of our time in the hotel to start to figure out which actors were playing Macbeth, Duncan, Banquo, Lady Macbeth.etc. I'm not very big on Shakespeare so if I hadn't read it prior to the show, I wouldn't have had a clue what was going on. The play is based off of Macbeth, which I would definitely recommend reading before you go to Sleep No More. They recommend experiencing this on your own, and I do think that it allows you to enjoy it more when you're taking as much or as little time as you see fit for each scene and/or room of the hotel. My wife and I stuck together for a while, then she wanted to go follow a new character while I chose to stick with the one we'd been following. We eventually made it into the hotel and since we were early it was easy to follow around a couple of the characters. Once you make it into the bar, it feels like you've walked back in time to a dark yet lively prohibition era lounge. We arrived early (ABSOLUTELY recommended!) and made our way eventually into the hotel bar. It didn't disappoint! We absolutely loved it, and it was definitely a totally different theater experience than we've ever had before. It's sold as a mysterious experience with a 'hands on' feel. I remembered reading about this on the plane on the way home from NYC last time we were there so I booked it. We were originally looking at going to the Book of Mormon, but the tickets were expensive, and I felt that we already experience that type of theater in NYC when we went to Anything Goes a few years ago. A must do experience for locals and visitors alike. And you might just become part of the story, or get taken into a secret room I've yet to meet someone who didn't find this show fascinating. Be open! If you have really immersed yourself the actors will feel it. You're can't see everything at once but it's OK! 4. There are multiple floors and things are happening with every character from the beginning until the end of the show. Seriously, how often have you thought about going through someone's medicine cabinet? Riffle away, my friends! 3. Go through drawers, read notes, take candy. It will help you follow the story line, and it's useful to remind yourself of all the characters should you choose to follow one specifically 2. Refresh your knowledge of the story line, especially if you're not an adventurous type. You can take breaks and go back into the show (just don't miss the final scene in the ball room!) My additional suggestions: 1. You're running at times, going up and down stairs, in the dark, all while wearing a mask. From arrival to the end, the evening was nothing short of amazing! Take the word of those who have been a few times. I was blown away by the attention to detail, and the talent of the actors. It's really the most incredible way to experience Macbeth. This is one of the best evenings I could imagine as a lover of theater.
