![]() ![]() The Awesome Screenshot extension seems to do the trick. I have no idea how it decides what to export and what not to, the layout is weird, and it’s broken into multiple pages for some reason. Safari has File > Export as PDF, but it’s pretty awkward. In Safari DevTools, select a node, right-click, and you’ll see Capture Screenshot in the context menu. There is a setting in the Firefox DevTools that you need to turn on called Take a screenshot of the entire page under Available Toolbox Buttons. I’ve also had good luck with the Nimbus extension in Chrome. If you need a “mobile” full-length screenshot, just adjust the responsive view to the size you want and save again. I find it easy to use the command prompt to do it as well: Command-Shift-P to open the command palette. You use “Responsive Design Mode”, then the menu option to get the full page screenshot is in the menu in the upper right. Nevermind the fact that it’s extra tricky with things like fixed position elements.įortunately, browsers can help us out a bit here.Īs of Chrome 59, it’s built into DevTools. You could take individual screenshots of the visible area and use a photo editing program to stitch them together, but that’s a pain in the but. ![]() ![]() A full page screenshot captures the entire website even if it needs to be scrolled around to see all of it. Use the PDF pop-up to 'Save as PDF.' The downside to this approach is that if the site has different screen and print styles, you can only get a PDF of the print style. Create a new paper size that fits the entire webpage (eg, 8.5in x 30in). The visible area is pretty easy to get just by screenshotting the screen. Under the 'Paper Size' pop-up, select 'Manage Custom Sizes'. They certainly get the basics of recording usable video done and allow for very basic editing, but with so many other, richer options out there in this department it is rare that I turn to Awesome Screenshot for video. It can be quite useful to get a “full page” screenshot in a browser. Also, I have found their video options in general to be lackluster. I have other software I use for when I need that specific tool. One drawback is that Awesome Screenshot does not have a scrolling screenshot tool that I am aware of. Rather than download everything you snip, you can easily copy and paste without any data usage. A real game changer is the "Copy" option that pops up immediately after taking a screenshot. Any content I work with I can easily grab what I need with the various snipping tools. I ran into restrictions and complications with certain file types with every other screenshot software I have used. Often for collaboration or marketing purposes it is convenient to be able to take a quick shot of parts of a file rather than dismantling it or hunting for the pieces in all of my stored items. PROSĪs an educational content creator I work with many different types of files that contain my own creations. I know that I can turn to Awesome Screenshot for reliable, quality screenshots no matter what I am working on and with the option to Copy rather than save I shave valuable time off of my content creation investment. They are evolving and sooner or later these issues will be fixed. It also has limitations with screen recording editing. This tool is not available in the form of an application so that the audience can use it as their default screenshot taker on their Windows or Mac machines. It is indeed awesome when we are talking about taking screenshots and using it with our browser but it is not so awesome when it comes to annotating or editing screen recordings and using it with software other than a web browser. So, no need to download anything it makes life super easy for those whose job requires them to take a lot of screenshots and screen recordings. We can record screens and this is also stored in the cloud. We can easily edit and share it with anyone as it stores everything in the cloud. Another cool feature is we get to see an inbuilt screenshot editor and annotator. It has multiple options when it comes to taking screenshots, as we can take a full page screenshot by just clicking on a button and it keeps scrolling down we don't need to scroll either, we can take screenshots of a portion of a webpage, or we can capture full-screen. It is a browser-based screenshot taker and screen recorder. The thing that makes it awesome is its feature-loaded extension. It also allows me to download and save my screenshots on a local host. I use it with my Chrome because it is super convenient and fulfills all of the requirements from editing a screenshot to sharing it with clients and coworkers. My job requires me to take hundreds of screenshots on a daily basis. ![]()
